View Full Version : I think it is time to PRAISE the organisers.
what bloody differance does it make if i am a marshal or not? If you want to give up your time, and not just for this one event, but for hundreds of events that us marshals work at all through the year / country, then maybe you could save some of your money, ever thought of that?
I cant believe that you guys are Still moaning on a thread that is set up for praisal.
Quite simply, if you dont like the format of the rally, why are you even bothering to go! Maybe there will be more room in the 'Pens' for all the people who do enjoy it.

ap1 03 November 2003, 21:50 I thought i would start this thread, purely because i am sick to the hind teeth of people running this Rally down.
It is all so easy to complain about something when things are not going the way you like them, but very hard to praise someone for a job well done.
I would like to thank EVERYONE involved in the organising of this event, everyone from the grass roots to the top of the tree. If so many people didn't put in so much hard work we would'nt have a rally, and we wouldnt have this forum, and the grumpy moaners out there would have nothing to keep winging about!!
A big thank you again, for providing what is undoubtably the best event in the WRC callendar.
From a very Happy Marshal, who can not wait until Thursday Night.
Mk2_heaven 03 November 2003, 21:53 me too watched last years home movies again today getting real excited now lol filled car with optimax 77.9p greeeeeeeat and redex ready to go

bring it on i say
flat-in-5th 03 November 2003, 21:56 you feel free to sing the events praises and I am sure the people organising and running it actually do a sterling job, but I am yet to be persuaded that it isnt a second rate, over priced and over hyped event.
VOMIT COMET 03 November 2003, 22:00 ap1 thought you may be a marshal. Every year i pay this stupendous amount of money for a ticket. Around £170 of fuel for the scoob. £500 on burgers bacon sarnis and ale. £14000 worth of fireworks. When i get home im freezing have a hangover and stink. What a joke.
Cant wait to get there money well spent for the best event of the year roll on next year in september though could be nice and warm.
Gavin
Jonny__5 03 November 2003, 22:01 I tend to agree with you Flat i've had more fun watching the old codgers throwing there Mk1 Escorts around the forrest for little or next to nothing and don't see why i should have to line the pockets of some rich geezer who is not concerned with the sport just the finances that come with it.
VOMIT COMET 03 November 2003, 22:12 ap1 read the last part of my thread I beleive it was and attempt to agree with you the first part was a joke. If it was £300 squid i would still go. (dont get any ideas) Went to silverstone to watch gp last year. Heli flight was cancelled on the way in low cloud line now that was a rip off waste of money no refund take the p!ss.
Cant wait worth every minute in the dirt and cold.
ap1 i will be the one smiling at every stage and tazin the scoob between stages. Give us a wave.
Cheers m8 Gavin
ap1 03 November 2003, 22:18 Sorry Vomit, just a bit P****d off at the moment!!
VOMIT COMET 03 November 2003, 22:22 To true old lad dont understand people going with such sour grapes. Save your money. Taking the big bro this year after reading some comments it gives newbies bad vibes. Mind you fortunatly hes still p!ssing himself with excitement.
VOMIT COMET 03 November 2003, 22:23 And taking his shorts he wont be told on that one.
ap1 03 November 2003, 22:25 I Hope they are thermal shorts
VOMIT COMET 03 November 2003, 22:27 No alan partridge pop out the side skimpy seventies beauties. At least it may have been the seventies could be eighties. Was only a nipper then.
RXC 03 November 2003, 22:31 ap1 nice to see some positive comments. It's a great rally, with some of the most dedicated fans and marshals in the world, run in superb rallying terrain, and I am looking forward to a superb weekend.
ap1 04 November 2003, 09:22 It amazes me that a thread set up for praising someone disappears of the front page within a few hours, when a thread full of people grumbling stays at the top for ages!
Just sums up really, what i said in my opening message.
What a poor world we live in today.
nuggs 04 November 2003, 09:46 I know, if people don't like the rally why are they on this forum ?
Jen 04 November 2003, 09:51 Well I can't wait - I've never managed to go to a WRC event before (but plenty of local rallies :)) so I'm VERY excited! :D
£150 for two rally event passes, that'll last all weekend and has kept me excited for about 3 months before hand, sure the memories will last a lifetime and we'll have video footage to remember, it'll be great and still a bargin I say :D
T2000PPP 04 November 2003, 11:17 Its my first event too.Cant wait. All hail the organisers and big up the marshalls.
