View Full Version : Arrival time for Super Special
mattp94 03 November 2003, 21:07 I'm taking the family to thursdays super special and I see that the first cars are due at around 7.30pm. Can anyone give me some advice on just how early we should turn up. Although we only live a mile or so away, it looks like we have to use the park and ride service. I'm guessing this will be rather busy so how long should we leave to get in??
carter x 03 November 2003, 21:25 getting there is no problem on the park and ride (get to carpark about 1hr before 1st car for bus )
now getting out is a different matter if you only watch the 1st 20 cars then head for the bus ,you may only have a 2hr wait !!
if you only live a few miles away id get a taxi and book it to pick u up then its all over
VOMIT COMET 03 November 2003, 21:32 To right get a taxi. Theres an island at the entrance to the stage get a taxi to drop you there and pick you up after. If you do use the carpark dont forget there are a couple of trade stands you can visit. What ever dont go straight after the top runners have finished you will wait hours to get on a full smelly old bus.
mattp94 03 November 2003, 21:41 Maybe I'm being stupid here but where are the car parks? All I can find here is that I should go back to the bl**dy M4 and follow the signs. If we can get a lift to the secruity gates at the entrance to the docks can we walk from there?
carter x 03 November 2003, 21:50 the park and rides are at
cardiff athletics stadium and
ralley hq also
splott market
1st buses are at 4pm
last buses back 30mins after last car
VOMIT COMET 03 November 2003, 21:54 Mattp94 sure you can walk in would save loads of time.
mattp94 03 November 2003, 21:56 Cheers. Just didn't know if they would only allow access by offical park n ride busses.
Chip 03 November 2003, 22:00 Why not park in town and get the bus or train down there. Easy really! Surprised your asking, if you only live a mile away why dont you walk there.
Chip.
mattp94 03 November 2003, 22:04 Its only a mile away if I can get in throught the other docks entrance next to the Butetown tunnels.
VOMIT COMET 03 November 2003, 22:06 Jump thefence if there is one if you have a ticket or some bribe money you should be ok.
mattp94 03 November 2003, 22:11 I wouldn't mind jumping the fence but trying to toss the kids over might attract some unwanted attention :-)
VOMIT COMET 03 November 2003, 22:15 Tossin kids over what thats disgusting. Only joking LOL. Have a good one the kids will love it. Make sure they get plenty of free muller rice.
RXC 03 November 2003, 22:26 VOMIT wish you hadn't mentioned the muller rice. I ate so much of that stuff last year I could easily have adopted your username...
VOMIT COMET 03 November 2003, 22:30 You werent one of those nutters carrying thirty packs hoping never to visit a supermarket again. We skipped it comes out like pebble dash in the forest at 6am not good. Have to take a six pack of dunny role!
hotchy 03 November 2003, 22:34 You should have got some, they were very handy for splattering press cars when the tw~ts blocked the stage car parks.

RXC 03 November 2003, 23:04 Only this year we'll be carrying Smarties not Muller Rice. How many tubes of smarties will it take to stop hotchy's Range Rover in it's tracks?
hotchy 03 November 2003, 23:09 Not many, just follow the oil slick!
