As rally week is here, to help any first timers I thought we could start one giant checklist of things to pack. Who has the weirdest items on their list? Mine is very straightforward I'm afraid - I'm not sleeping in the car so don't need to be too adventurous:

TICKETS!!! (Will check I have these about a hundred times)
Maps
Programme
Strong Walking Boots (warmer than wellies)
Brolly
Waterproofs and warm coat
Several jumpers/sweatshirts
Subaru Ski hat & scarf
Gloves
Thick warm socks (several pairs)
Sunglasses (optimistic)
Folding seat (I'm getting old)
Torch (with new batteries!)
Camera
Scanner
Binoculars
Air horns
Cool box for food
Flasks for coffee/soup
Smarties
Oxo cubes (ref scoobycouple and sudentassu)
Black bags for boot of car

you forgot your Booze mate. don't forget your booze.

What type/or which scanner does anybody reccommend?

I'll have to leave the booze at home 'cos I'm driving, but I'm going home every night so will open a few tinnies then. If I was staying in the forest overnight I'd be sure to have a supply with me - although perhaps I should add a small hip flask to the list just for medicinal purposes :-)

Sounds daft I know but I need somewhere to store the large quantities of sarnies/pasties/crisps/chocolate! And it's actually quite warm here today!

I find taking a few diacalms usually blocks you up for the 3 days, nothing worse than slipping in the mud while stooping! Happened to a specky last year and they ended up sitting in thier own.

i remenber last year everyone stopping at the first bog, the BP pertol station and little chef, well there was a large que for the blokes single crapper, so had to use the ladys, they had 3 pots! ideal and it was very clean!

but defo take bog roll, stella, plasters, sleeping bag and loads of pillows! etc..

wheres the fireworks???????

and he had no bog roll,rally without bog roll is like a broken pencil-pointless.
