car for me this year had trouble with hotel last year only one with room was st melons out newport £200 a night mind you was fookin nice cracking breakfast and good bar chat with battery+ and 22motorsport lot

i asume u didnt go to any early stages if u had time for breakfast
we even went to germany and stayed in car drove all the way there
and back and was still cheaper that gb wiv a full extra day

sort of last minute really only had sunday day pass but got about three stages in and a cracking drive from newport toward the forests no piggies or cameras on the backroads :)

Sleep is for wimps - i plan on staying awake from thursday to sunday.... then sleeping at work on monday!!!!! :D

Scoobs Couple - wouldn't mind some tips on driving over for the Germany event - like distances, did you drive down on day 1 or day before, how many stages you got in, etc. Thanks

I prefer to go out on the lash on a night, the later the better ---- then suffer on the stages the next morning.

Can't beat a good barf out of the bus window the next day en route to the stage :D

Hotels are for Eastbourne and Bournemouth, not the rally. Half the fun is the beer/fireworks/drunk dancing the night before :)

We do a bit of both. For the last 2 years we've rented a cottage. This year we've got one 5 miles from Halfway. Only costs £50 a night and sleeps 6.

Yep, and i bet its the hotel lot who get up late, have breaky, then drive to the stage, and instead of parking at the bottom with a 2 mile walk,you drive all the way to the top.Park in the middle of the road and block every one in for 4 hrs. Just like the Press!

I wont be a happy chappie if it happens again this year.

we'll be in a hostel about 10mins from rally HQ.

car park at trawscoed on the thursday night, then hotel in Neath for the friday and saturday

Travelodge Thursday & Friday night, somewhere around HQ/Parc Ferme Saturday night. May find a b&b for sunday (depends on the rugby result really!)

Top tips for those in cars, wear a 'hoodie', as you can pull the hood right over your face and keeps the heat loss from your head to a minimum. Worked a treat on the nights i've been out this year around the circuits and stages of the UK, and some of those have been f***ing freezing.

sleeping in the car definiteley ,the only time ive wished i was in a hotel was in keilder (93) when it was -12 and frost was on the inside of the car
anyway hotel managers dont like fire works going of in the rooms

Decided on a camper van, cost £300 for 5 days and sleeps 4 beteer than craming into a alpha 156 my spine is still twisted...! camper van even has a TV, toilet and shower so come and knock if you need a s**t or catch the highlights on channel 4

neither. the rally is too expensive to go to see, and only the top 10 cars are worth watching anyway! Save your cash and watch it on the telly!

If you watch it on the telly, you'll only get to see 8 cars anyway (unless there's been a big off)

those 8 cars will be the only ones worth seeing!!!!!!!!!!! the rest will resemble my mam going to the shops in a £100k car!

its cheaper than a TV licence flat in 5th and i bet they wont show neils mini cooper...!

It could well be cheaper but not on a per day basis! and why would anyone want to see a mini????????????????????????? (unless its a skirt!)

Just got to see that mini goin through, in the flesh, can't bet the atmosphere in the forests just not the same on telly, anyway can always watch that later, best of both worlds, even if I am a wimp for not sleeping in car!
