I'm on the Brechfa stage on Friday morning. Will be there overnight. I was wondering if there are any people who would be willing to make a load of banners showing support for Colin McRae? Dont know why in God's name the WRC are allowing themselves to losse him? I think a few "We want Colin to stay" and "Colin for the WRC" might arract the TV cameras and get people complaining to the FIA!!!!!

On a serious note - would be a shame for Colin to go, but he has made plenty out of it in the past, and he seems to be lagging a bit this year, so it may well be time to step aside.

Yeah! I reckon if people going to Brechfa get a Union Jack and either paint or use black tape to write on it! Would be good, might attract the Channel 4 heli! If your up on the stage, mine will the The Land Rover Disco, with Union Flags hanging off it. Come say hi!

think colin is an amazin driver & will be a great loss to the sport :(

colin used to be my idle a few years ago he lost a rally and blamed it on the fans for been on the road, it always seems to be someone else,s fault with this guy eg ,rally fans or nicky grist so come on carlos

yeah the nicky grist thing pissed me off, personaly dont think he has been quite 100% without him. i praise the guy on his driving skills, even if theres a possibility he might be a bit of a prik in reality.

IMHO Mcrae's arrogance is currently bigger than his talent in the sport, he's been a great driver, and to a certain extent still is but at the moment he is the top paid driver in the wrc and look where he is in the championship. I'll still be supporting Mcrae on the Q but maybe he hasn't got what he used to have.

just wanted to say to any Mcrae fans.... i have been spectating and competing for 24 years and i have followed all colin's career and some of his father's too, and to witness colin in full flight is something very special,anyone who was at the "RAC" in 95 will know what i mean!, it is very sad to think he wont be there next year,he has been an inspiration to thousand's and an ambassador for british rallying! let's get behind him and send him off in true rallying style!GO COLIN GO!!!!

Damn right! I was there in '95, and stood in Crychan forest near the finish on day 3, there was a slight left kink into a K-right, Sainz braked, McRae never lifted!!! That days rallying was the best fightback i've seen live.

As some of you have said though he has lost it a bit. On BBC Sport website he's stated as saying he's taking a sabatical next year, which is a shame, but hopefully it'll kick him back into gear, but my support will be out there.

Would be nice to see some support for Alastair Ginley too.

where are all you Mcrae fans ? you can't all have such short memories. would you rather watch colin "PEDAL TO THE METAL" or boring burnsie gathering points and "keeping it tidy",robert reid must have perfected his knitting by now!...........................

it’s really sad that Colin will not be in WRC next year.
I would like to express ma support to him and all his fans an anyway you choose. If you will have any banners supporting him during the Wales Rally please write on any of these banners that Greek fans are with him.
Honestly, my opinion, is that “they” don’t want him in the WRC because he costs too much money.
Considering that many drivers will be unemployed next year because of the new rules, there will not be any drivers like Colin to beat the drivers that “they” will keep.
If someone has to leave WRC, for sure, MUST NOT BE Colin!

McRae has been a top driver, but his time has been and gone. If you're making flags, do not use the Union Jack in honour of SCOTLANDS finest, use the St Andrews flag - after all he can't bring himself to put the Union Jack on his car can he???

hey Ronald how old do you think Colin is then ?, how old is carlos? correct me if i'm wrong but is'nt Colin still the most successful driver in terms of WRC win's,and britains first ever world rally champion (not won by default). and if i choose to wave a union jack it's because it's british... not welsh,not scottish,not irish,not english...but a union of all these isles....

Yesterday it was raining...! BUMMER!!! The way its here been this week we'll be sinking by the time the rally starts! At least you have warm rain!

Lets really get behind Col next weekend, he's kept us all entertained over the years, and reading various websites this week he's going for it in Wales. Bring it on.

By the way, i've mentioned on a couple of other threads, if anyone is staying in Cardiff over the weekend and fancies meeting up any of the nights for a couple of beers, gimme a shout. I'm there from Wednesday until (currently) Sunday.

Remember 3 years ago (2000) when McRae didn't have that good a season, he was flying on the network-q until stage 12 when he crashed out in Rheola! McRae all the way (and solberg second so he takes the championship)!!

Be real sad if he doesn't race next year he has got to be the most exciting driver to watch all or nothing, awsome!

Now now! Stop with the flag thing!!!! This is supposed to unite us! You may not like Colin, but its a damn sure thing that half of you wouldnt be here unless he'd put this sport on the map! Think about it. If he's going lets give him a send off!
