I'm going to have to re-tile our En-Suite .... due to putting in a new shower tray.
Old Tiles are fine, BUT the shower tray top is lower than the botton tile and it could do with a change - I am looking at tiling over the tiles.
What do I need to do? anyone? I was thinking of lightly angle grinding the old tile faces - is that ok? is it needed? any other way around it?

There are special adhesive's available for tiling on tiles or just unibond the old tiles first.

Cheers Mog - unibond the old ones first?? Could you please expand on that a little?? You mean smear something on them??

Unibond is a brand name and probably the best building adhesive or PVA, just water it down a bit or follow instructions on the container.

Tiles on tiles stick like ba$duds! Ask anyone who's tried removing them!

It is a complete sod to remove 'em later, and tiling on tiling on tiles will eventually mean you can no longer open the door ;)

If you really want to tile over old tiles , dont pva old tiles as all you do is form a skin over old tiles , then all your doing is sticking new tiles to that skin , I KNOW WHAT I MEAN ANYWAY ???? alan.
