Just to let everyone know that myself and two other Scoobys finished the CBRE without any breakdowns or problems at all!
My car ran perfect and on day one did 100+ all the way to Africa no problem unlike the Skylines, Porsches, TVRs, Ferraris etc.
Sorry to the skyline that thought it could outdo my Scooby on the track day and ended up in the gravel!!
Thanks to Scoobysport and SCC Performance.....

Was one of the other Scoobs a red '94 WRX pretty well bog standard? My nephew (Stuart) entered and I would love to know how he got on!

How do you actually go about doing this, is there a joining fee and how long does it take, any problems with the police ?.

Look on www.cannonballruneurope.co.uk for details.
The event took five days and was amazing. There was some trouble with the police but thats expected with people doing that distance at speed. Only one arrest as far as I'm aware though.

I tried for sponsorship but was late at entering so did not have any luck. Scoobysport gave the car a going over befor the event and de-resricted it which was a great help. I did it off my own back and I'm not exactly rich so I'm just glad that it was so reliable. I'd highly reccomend it to anybody. Look out for a programme on channel 5 hopefully coming soon.

Fair play for doing it yourself. I know its expensive per person but definitely looks like the best 5 days of your life! lol
Ill be there - in 5 years. lol

To enter the event for a car and two people is about £2800 which includes ferries, track day and hotels. Petrol and tolls etc you have to do yourself. We managed about 200 - 250 miles to a tank which wasn't to bad. I have no idea how many times we filled up until the credit card bill comes through!!!! About 15 I reckon!!
It's worth it to undertake £100,000 cars..... and show them it's not all about how much your car costs.

well done
what mods does your car have and what model year is it?.
it is more to see if the mods helped the reliability rather than power. did you run with scanners and laser jammers?, or is that just in the films .

Glad to see all the Scoobs made it & buried the Scoob curse from last year.
Had the same fun with the Skoda showing a few of the exotics that big bucks dosent equal big performance, our Hilite was taking one of the Ferraris with over 140 on the clock, he wasnt amused. Scariest moment was the Porshe sideways about 80 yards in front of me at 90+ after he aquaplained. Somehow he managed to keep to the hard shoulder & first lane after he hit the barrier & left me a gap to go through albeit littered with flying bits of Porshe. The car looked a mess & I have heard its totalled but thankfully they got away with a few bruises.
See you next year I trust

Yeah there was a red standard scooby there that finished fine aswell.
My car is a 95 WRX with no mods except a dump valve and exhaust. It went like a dream with no trouble at all. I did not use radar detectors but alot of people did.
