View Full Version : where to get cheapish flaps catalunya199 30 September 2003, 14:52 im after a set of black flaps and im not going to pay £150 for a set so can anyone shed some light on a cheaper set i would prefer them to be quite big so i stick some stickers on them John WRX 02 October 2003, 23:00 demon tweeks, massive plastic sparco ones, £10 a pair RB5#111 03 October 2003, 11:03 Or www.raldes.co.uk (http://www.raldes.co.uk) on page 103. I was looking at these at they are Kaylan mudflaps. Come in one size which is 430mmx300mm 3mm thick, i think £14.95 a pair RB5-126 29 October 2003, 20:30 Ask to speak to Russ at town & county Perth he'll sort you out with some mate ! Boost II 29 October 2003, 21:53 Not that large but only about £10 a pair from a Subaru dealership. Can't understand why people pay £150-£300 for a small square of rubber  These have subaru in raised silver lettering - bigger on the backs, smaller lettering on the fronts. Effectively keeps sh1t off the side of the car so surely that's the main thing but looks OK too:) http://homepage.ntlworld.com/john_and_fiona/flaps/Page_1/IMAG0000.JPG akshay67 30 October 2003, 23:48 Boost, did you get the fixing stuff with the flaps? How did you fix them on? Boost II 31 October 2003, 01:46 They came in packets with the fittings. The rears are just clamped on to the edge of the bumper by two plates of metal pulled together by bolts. The fronts came with some cunning bits which replaced existing trim clips securing the wheel arch lining and side skirt to the body. The new fittings held the trim in place but also held threaded bolts which held the flaps on if I remember correctly. I normally save the instructions for things like this but I think these have been lost. Fronts are very secure, backs would probably come off on a gravel rally stage but fine for normal conditions ;) StickyMicky 31 October 2003, 01:50 try priceing the classic wrx aero mudflaps up mate  still considering big red rally slag flaps on mine akshay67 31 October 2003, 09:26 Thanks Boost. That is a very good price if you get the fixings too. I'll call my dealer today. I have made some flaps myself, but can't find any suitable fixings, so will use the ones off these. Bullring 03 November 2003, 00:39 Has anyone fitted the Demon Tweeks flaps to a MY03? And if so do you have to drill! I've fitted the £10 Subaru rear flaps to my 03, they look ok'ish, if not a little thin. Haven't fitted the front yet because it looks like drilling is required? [Edited by Bullring - 11/2/2003 11:45:31 PM] |
