Not looking too hopeful then for 60mm or 74mm depth that I had in mind. Is 53mm about the absolute limit?

Thanks,

Andy.

There's a well-meaning but fairly incomplete/useless article in the most recent edition of "True Grip". Doesn't say max. sizes but the guy fits Pioneer TS-E1775s costing £89.99.

He made his own bracket although he says Halfords can get them for £13. This was to stop them scraping on the window, I think.

Probably worth a look at the article if you haven't seen it already.

Hope this helps

Ollie

I don't get True Grip so I can't read the article.

I want to know if I can fit 6.5 inch in fronts OK, but not sure on the depth as I hear there isn't much room compared to 02 model.

I'll e-mail you with my details, too much to scan?

Thanks,

Andy.

6.5's will fit but you have to angle them with the cone facing upwards into the car as the door card has a curve in, which if you pack the speaker out straight this presses against the cone.

I gave up in the end and went for 6" infinity 605cs's, but since me doing this other people have managed to get 6.5" inches in.

good luck

Peter

pbee, can you tell me the depth of these speakers please?

I'll have a search and see if I can find out in the mean time if it's listed on a website.

Thanks,

Andy.

53mm is about right, most of the 6.5" I found were 60mm +.

If you look at the Infinity website, they have a configurator that will tell you what speakers will fit in your car...the speaker with the greatest depth I found they said would fit was 2 7/16" (just over 61mm).

I'm taking my car to www.dndservices.co.uk on Monday to have Focal 165V2 (slim)'s fitted...they have a depth of 60mm, so I'll let you know how I (they) get on.

I looked at the US site, is this the one you mean?

Car comes up as 2003 model, but in the US they are called 2004 model so I think the info where it says 6.5 inch on the rear doors is out of date. I've sent them an e-mail to see if they can advise further.

Thanks,

Andy.

Reply from the USA already.......

Hi,

You will need to speak to the car dealer in this instance. We do not keep vehicle details as we rely on our dealers in this respect.

Best regards
