I'm finding it very confusing - all the magazines seem to give different figures for a bike's power. Obviously some are because they test them and they differ slightly from advertised - but are they at the Rear wheel or the crank ? Bike magazine doesnt say which on their data pages or reviews.

manufactures tend to quote crank figures. mags tend to use power at the back wheel power as measured on a dyno. difference is usually ~10-15% for chain drive.

Not all manufacturers quote crank, Ducati traditionally quote rear wheel. If you're comparing 2 bikes in one magazine they're usually measured the same way.
