My mitre saw intermittently trips out the RCD (30ma) in my split load box. Do you think this is a fault in the saw or the ring main.
It happens on at least 2 different sockets.
I guess it pulls a large inductive load when it starts up but I can't understand why it only trips the RCD some of the time.

best bet is have it PAT tested.

I found the problem. One of the sockets on the ring main had a dodgy live and neutral connection.
