I would like to extend a warm welcome to you all visiting the Rally and the Forestry Commission Forests in South Wales.
As a resident in South Wales, Rally followers need to be aware of the Local Police and the numerous speed traps that will be in place, looking for you, should you Zip between stages.
Whilst Boy Racers are fair game, last year one got caught at 120mph!!!!, even the Rally drivers got caught [Burns 5 times.] The Police mean business, if you are over the speed limit you will be done.
Drive Safely, because we would like to see you in 2004, with your licence in tact.

For next year's event, the Partnership plans to bring in more Field Inquiry Offices to allow foreign nationals caught speeding in Wales to be tracked down and fined by magistrates before they leave the country.
A Partnership spokeswoman said: "A small percentage of those caught speeding this year were from other countries.
"It is only fair that we deal with them the same way we would UK nationals if they are caught breaking the law.
"The Field Inquiry Offices will track down vehicles quickly so drivers can be dealt with."
Welcome to Wales Rally GB. :D

You have to speed, cos it's so badly organised with the times between stages, that there's no way you would be able to see what you have paid for, which is to see rally cars flying through the welsh forests!

Ouch! That's a pretty harsh article, innit? They'll never track me down, hahaha! I'll slip back into the matrix...

I disagree with ddb85's assertion that you need to speed to get to the stages. Last year we had event passes and managed to get to all our scheduled stages despite driving an old diesel Land Rover with a top speed of around 65mph(and that's downhill on a motorway).

I do not agree with trying to bypass the law regarding speed cameras, whether fixed or otherwise. However, I dissagree with the local authorities who see an opportunity to make a quick buck.
Now, I'm not a Scooby owner, but what would impress me is a convoy of say half-a-dozen Scooby's travelling at a speed obviously less than the limit, in a silent protest.
Just a thought

Whatch in perticular on the 465 in the vale of neath,on the duel carriage way.
Lastt 3 years a white escort van has been in the lay by,with a sliding back window on both sides of the road, when traffic is at the most revenue generating.
Ps take your rubbish home with you.
