View Full Version : Just been knocked off my bike!!
Steve Fort 16 September 2003, 18:06 I was just making my way through the nightmare school run traffic, when some spotty kid with his mates, in an escort, cut right in front of me and knocked me flying!
I see what he was about to do, so tried avoiding him, but i just clipped his rear wing. I was only going about 15mph, but its damaged the fairing and broke my indicator where i've hit his car. My bike has then fallen onto its other side, but luckily damage was minimal thanx to some very effective crash bungs.
What has wound me up though is that the bloke stopped to ask if i was alright and said he'd pull over into a bus stop, and then just fecked off!!images/smilies/mad.gif I didnt even think of getting his reg number, i was too dazed. Another thing that pi55ed me off even more was that i was in the middle of a main road, at the busiest time of the day, trying to pick my bike up off the floor........and not one person stopped!!! They all just drove around me!! Whats the matter with people nowadays.....no-one give a 5hit about anyone else!......Horrible bastids!images/smilies/mad.gif
Sheepsplitter 16 September 2003, 18:37 Check with the local police, they may have video of it occuring and him driving off, particularly if this was on or near a bus lane.
A similar thing happened to me 2 years ago, but I managed to get back on the bike and gave chase. The stupid tart thought her 1.2Nova could outrun my GSXR1000 :-)
Chicken Man 16 September 2003, 18:45 You need to hurry up and buy that house and get the feck out of Romford.
Or buy a baseball cap, turn into a c**t and blend in.
Your choice!
Burt 16 September 2003, 19:14 W@nkers!images/smilies/mad.gif Hope you get it all sorted, and doesn't end up costing you!
Andy Porter 17 September 2003, 09:38 Sorry to hear that m8, I know the feeling when no sod will pull up to help you off the floor :(
Steve Fort 17 September 2003, 13:09 I just don't understand how people can just drive around a motorcycle accident and not do anything to help out, but like Chicken man said, I do live in Romford, and Romford really is full of tossers!
I asked the police about the cctv cameras and they said that there arent any at that particular stretch of road.....Typical!
scrappydoo 17 September 2003, 15:15 Have faith mate. If i had been passing in da evo i surely would have helped you out.Glad you are alright though.
Andy Porter 18 September 2003, 09:45 My first accident was in Weybridge, nice area, no one helped. My second accident was in Purley, nice area, no one helped, don't beat Romford up to much m8 its people not places :(
TRIGGER 18 September 2003, 11:23 Purley - nice area ? Not a chance.
Andy Porter 18 September 2003, 11:38 Why do you say that Trigger ?
TRIGGER 18 September 2003, 11:53 Sorry, but I dont think Purley is a particularly nice area - it's got nice bits but also nasty bits too - and they ruin it overall IMHO. Anyway I wasnt being totally serious.
Seriously I am very disappointed generally with people - they never seem to stop and help. I will always help out a biker even if they are just stopped on the side of the road.
On the other hand I dropped my Bike in Dorking High St (just a touch embarrassing !!) and almost before the bike hit the deck, a waiter from an Italian restaurant was out helping and offered me a free drink - but this is a real rarity I think.
Andy Porter 18 September 2003, 13:52 Where do you live Tigger ? Not having a pop just curious. I lived in Purley for 28 years and I think its ok ! Now live in Whyteleafe.
Dropping your bike in Dorking high steet, I bet you didn't advertise than in Ryka's ;)
TRIGGER 18 September 2003, 16:12 Andy - I live in a village south of Dorking (Brockham)- used to live in Coulsdon. Anyway I am biased as I dont like living in cities - I like the country.
It's taken me about 6 months to talk about my drop in Dorking. Bloody embarrassing - it was a combination of short legs, road camber and uphill t-junction. As you very rightly say, not something I brag about !!
Andy Porter 19 September 2003, 11:30 Brockham is very nice m8, I was in the pub near the green quite recently, nice and peaceful. I hear what you saying about busy area's, when I grow up I may move somewhere quiet ;) My bro lives in Coulsdon, the road next to Dobles.
Don't waorry about that drop m8, these things happen :) Probably the worse place to do it though ;)
