Cut from article I saw today - apologies if it's old news to bikers out there. Imagine rehearsing this: pulling the front brake @ 130mph - when you've disconnected the rear....

Craig Jones has set a new world "stoppie" record, which
involved riding a new Buell Firebolt motorcycle for 266
metres (873 feet) on its front wheel while braking. The
rear tyre is not allowed to touch the tarmac.

Jones, who is Buell's professional "extreme
rider", made only slight modifications (mmm?) to the new
Firebolt XB12R for the record attempt in Florida
last month.

First the mirrors, passenger footpegs, indicators and rear brake
were removed, then motocross-type raised
handlebars replaced low-set standard version
and 30kg of lead ballast was added to the fairing
to help the Firebolt maintain its nose-heavy attitude.

Then it was SIMPLY (sic) a matter of reaching the 130mph
launch speed, squeezing the front brake lever and
steering the Firebolt in a straight line with the rear tyre off
the deck.

Don't try this at home...

Mmm, have done a little bit of stoppie practice ( to see where the braking points are) and its surprising, how hard you can brake. Best to try it from 40mph plus as its much more controlable, the only thing i didn't like about it is - you just cant feel how high the back end is off the ground - till it drops back down or you release the lever. Never managed to get it more than 6 inches off the ground, as what puts me off is theres no turning back if you overcook it.
