During the weekend Citroen has decided to keep 'El matador' on at Citroen, this means mcrae does not have a top seat drive for next year. http://www.click-smilie.de/sammlung0903/sprachlos/speechless-smiley-020.gif http://www.click-smilie.de/sammlung0903/sprachlos/speechless-smiley-020.gif
is this a good or a bad thing?? i cant really decide cos the sport needs Mcrae but Citroen obviously belive Carlos to be the better driver, maybe due to money etc, http://www.click-smilie.de/sammlung0903/sprachlos/speechless-smiley-019.gif
i wonder what Mcrae will do now...
read it on wrc.com (http://www.wrc.com) http://www.click-smilie.de/sammlung0903/grinser/grinning-smiley-003.gif http://www.click-smilie.de/sammlung0903/grinser/grinning-smiley-018.gif http://www.click-smilie.de/sammlung0903/grinser/grinning-smiley-042.gif http://www.click-smilie.de/sammlung0903/grinser/grinning-smiley-047.gif

Hope not, i dont fancy playing Colin Mcrae 4 on the PS2 when all your doing is going round in a NASCAR! http://www.click-smilie.de/sammlung0903/fragend/confused-smiley-014.gif http://www.click-smilie.de/sammlung0903/fragend/confused-smiley-008.gif http://www.click-smilie.de/sammlung0903/fragend/confused-smiley-003.gif http://www.click-smilie.de/sammlung0903/fragend/confused-smiley-009.gif

i thought wrc.com had confirmed colin in a citroen for next year?
mcrae should have himself a go in the touring cars - would certainly lift its profile a bit - it does need it after all.

Only reason for keeping carlos IMHO is the sponsorship from telefonica. Possibly a bit contentious I know but you have to think that had a say in it!
little birdie has told me to watch out for colin in a second subaru team along with Toshi Arai, as the new rules say nothing about the manufacturers having more than one team. :D
We should find out in the next few weeks or so! :D

maybe the reason is the placing of carlos and colin at wrc shampionship

Twigster, another little birdie told me that Mr McRae has already been offered £3.5million by Pirelli to set up his own team or run his own car.
That's not a lot I know but it's a good start. If he does go down that route I hope he carries on driving himself, and doesn't get fobbed off with a customer spec WRC car.
It says a lot about the state of the sport when one of the most flamboyant and talented drivers in rallying has to pay for a drive. I know business is business and even at the lower levels of rallying 'works' drivers are having to bankroll their seat, but it still sucks.
The Subaru/McRae thing makes a lot of sense. Aren't they the only team running Pirelli's now? Toshi used to run an AllStars car, before he went to GrpN, too. Perhaps they will be using the same sort of set up for him and Colin? Interesting stuff.
Particualrly with Japan now getting a WRC round, Subaru will reap the rewards from having a round in their home country, with a local hero for the fans to go out and cheer on.
Bet Burns would be pissed if it came off though!
I'm not surprised Citroen have kept Carlos. He brings loads of dosh with him, Citroen must sell loads of cars in Spain, he is a national hero, he's a consistent driver, and lets face it. McRash hasn't exactly set the world alight these last few years has he? But he's cost teams a **** load in wages and 'shells!!

I can't see Burns being that pissed off as he has a paid drive for the next two years.
I can see the sense in Citroen keeping Carlos, he contributes points, wins, and money to the team.

Burns said last week that he didnt want to see mcrae leave the sport, because he's a big name in it.
if he was to go it would be like football losing David Beckham.
he's not the best player in the world but he has the most known name and the sport needs him.
