I've not really watched BTCC since the heady days of the late 90's. Only followed it in the press, so I was surprised at the quality of racing today especially as the championship gets a mauling in the press and from enthusiasts.
It was really good today, I only managed to see the feature and it featured some excellent racing from Thompson and Turkington. The MG team have done a great job in raising their game this season and will be a force to contend with in next years championship. Muller was excellent too. Great racing and thoroughly enjoyable as well as being free to view on "motors TV" a channel showing some top notch motor racing.

Good Grief!! A NACRO posting I'm in full agreement with .... ;)
Not seen them all but there's been some really good close BTCC racing throughout the season. Great entertainment as it is most years.. Don't know why some have tried to talk this season's BTCC efforts down elsewhere.

I should have been there but the "corprate hospitality" tickets I was promised fell through because a couple of people dropped out :(

BTCC has been poor for many years..... since BMW left IMHO .... and that includes the shambles of a year with the goldeneye sponsorship.I can't put my finger on it but the years with BMW,Alfa,Ford,Vaux,Volvo to name a few were ace to watch with lots of thrills and spills. Who want's to watch 5 showroom Astras racing in differn't colours .... and as for the drivers  if you can't get on in motorsport drive in the BTCC (Luke Hines) no wonder Jenson Button ripped him in junior karts LOL. TOCA needs to take it back to the early 90's specs ro it's going down the pan.
Knockhill 1994 37000 people
Knockhill 2001 10000 ish ..... that say's it all :)

Have you watched any of it recently- the standard of racing was IMHO very good.
I agree though things were better in the glory days.
