There are a few bare patches on my lawn which need filling in. When is a good time to chuck some sand and seed over it?

If you do it now, it will give it time to get established before winter. After winter Spring is the next opportunity :D

Now is as good a time as any. There is moisture available in the form of rain or dew in Autumn, and there is still enough warmth for the seeds to germinate. Otherwise you will have to wait for Spring.

Ideal time of year. Just doing ours now. Main problem is keeping dogs off sown areas.... D

Try poisoned meat?

Only joking:D Luckily my garden is fairly devoid of life (including the grass!) so no animals to worry about. Will birds try and eat the seeds though?

Is this hemp type grass - you can plant that any time of year if you have a uv lamp!!!

Perfect time, we have just had turf laid and was told seed or turf, early September is best. Bit of moisture about, but still warm enough.

Cheers

We've got a wasteland atm but need to get a JCB in first :(
