Was just wondering if you have to have working Fog Lights to be able to pass an MOT?

Any suggestions as its booked in for tomorrow and they are playing up! :(

As for the legalities, I believe the only fog light that is tested for the MOT is the rear fog.

I was of the understanding that if it was fitted by the manufacture as standard it has got to be working for the M.O.T.

Well I asked the mechanic doing my MOT and he said nope - only the rear fog light needs to work. Respectable garage too, not Kwik Fit or the like.

Didnt matter anyway as I sorted it out and all is working ok.

As I understand it, fog lights have to be fitted to all jap import cars, as they are not standard over there. Its why you often see them tagged onto the back bumper with a bit of no nails. :)

So I guess rear fog lights must be legal requirement.
