I recently installed my CP5200 AP caliper with 13" rotors on my 03 impreza. Initial bite is very different when compared with my friends car who has the same brake setup except pads. I got ferodo ds2500 pads while my friend uses performance friction. I myself prefer something that bites hard as soon as I apply the brakes. Therefore I'm thinking of changing the pads. Can anyone recommend another pad that will work with the cp5200 caliper? I also wouldn't mind knowing if the pads you recommend give off heavy brakedust. My ferodos are extremely quiet just like the factory, my only dislike is the amount of brake dust plus the lack of a hard bite on initial breaking.

thanks,

joe

Joe,

I find that the first time I use the brakes in the morning they're a bit sleepy (AP 4pots on 300ish AP rotors). I've got into the habit of pumping the pedal a few times as I stop for the main road, just to warm them a little.

Other than that I find the DS2500s great. Only question mark is whether they cool off too much on the motorway but I haven't noticed any problems so far.

Vindaloo.
