I've tried to fit a sti5 intercooler to my MY98 turbo. I think most thing is in order, apart from the dump valve at the front of the intercooler. How have you people got around this problem? Or are there any other problems I may come across fitting it?

Also, do I need to control the boost after fitting the I/C? Thanks in advance for your help.

I did this on mine about 4 months ago. STi5 onto '98 UK turbo.
I had to contact Hayward and Scott, (the exhaust people), for an adaptor to clear the throttle sensor, and allow the '98 type dump valve to fit. It cost about £80 delivered, and needs you to slightly modify the i/c where the dumpvalve exited, and the new fitting will go: about 30 minute's work, all told.
It seems to have been worth it, as I then had it remapped, (although you DON'T have to), by Bob Rawle at BRDevelopments, and he said it could run more boost than he's seen with other '98 UK cars.
If you need any more help, mail me.

Did you say you had it remapped, I didn't think I could do anything on my MY98 with regards to mapping, I hope I'm wrong.

I should have said: "had it remapped after having a LINK ecu fitted". Sorry:(:

As a matter of interest, how much boost are you now running with the MY99/00 i/c and how much were you running before?

with these mods the intercooler bolts to the original mounts, that you used for the slanted intercooler you removed,
