I'm looking for a gate for the end of my drive. I can find loads of people doing the automation side of things but you don't seem to be able to buy a ready made gate of any description.

Any ideas.

Will put up a link for a few places that do them ready made. I bought one a while ago and since moving havent yet used it.

I bought a 12ft 5 bar gate and a standard size path 5 bar gate and there wasnt much difference price wise between the two :eek: Will do the links when I get home or failing that use google and that should show some results close to you...

from my farming contacts, try....

Smalley's Timber Yard at Chatburn (now called something like Irelands???). Follow the old A59 from Clitheroe (i.e. Chatburn Road) past the hospital, over the link road, and then as you enter Chatburn it is on the left. If not, try Dugdales builders merchants also on the left.

Also, look in the Yellow Pages for Derek Fox & Sons Timber Ltd, who i think have bases in Chorley and Longridge.

I built one myself as,it was easy for me to do(cheaper too).

Getting a friend to make a melat frame and sink two posts into the ground for me. Then I'm just gonna clad the frame with some decent wood and stain it. I can get the automation kit for about £450 so the whole thing should be under £650.
