Looking at new lighting for the main bedroom and am considering downlighters but I'm unsure whether the resulting light would be right....
So anybody got them or opinions one way or the other ?
Room is 12'6 x 15' and I was thinking of 5x25 Watt (or maybe 35W) LV Downlighters.
Thanks

Hi m8
i got lv lights in my kitchen but 6 50w also are positionable give out loads of light my kitchen is about same size the do get quite hot though.
I have an opinion, but I'm not particularly qualified...:D
Just to clarify, do you mean recessed spots? If so, I would think that that would be fine if you had some other task lighting to compliment them. I would have thought 5x 25W would be better than the 35's; after all, you wouldn't have more than a 100W bulb in a single main light.

We've got LV downlighters in our bedroom :D
4x50W similar sized room - brilliant for when you need to see what you're doing (like getting dressed).
Wouldn't have them as the only lighting though, likely to give you headache after a while! We've got a couple of wall lights too for a more relaxing effect ;)

Stick them on a dimmer - sorted :)
I would think for a room that size 6 lights (perhaps 2 rows of 3.)
We normally put in 50W lamps on individual electronic transformers. Stick them on a dimmer and you are all the way there :D
You get lamps with different angles of throw.

They will be via a dimmer (actually a remote-controllable dimmer).
Will also have "normal" bed side lights and possibly an extra directional spot over the main full length mirror. Built-in wardrobes will also have their own internal lighting.
I've actaully gone for 5 x 20Watt 38 deg bulbs. if they're not enough I'll change the bulbs to 35w (the transformer/dimmer etc has been specced to cope).
Thanks for the comments chaps.(Edit: and chappesses ;) ! )

make sure you get the right dimmer for your transformer - two different types avail...
