They replaced my knackered standard clutch with a Helix number this morning and made me a very happy man.
Really smooth and professional job - I'm over the moon with the result. Pedal's much lighter than it used to be and no judder at all.
Also, good luck to Richard at the ring with the Evo fellas.

How much did it cost parts and labour please mate, as I'm sure this is looming on the horizon for my car.

Thankyou for all the sarcastic replies. :p
I am unfamiliar with latter-day street parlance, so you'll have to forgive my unwillingness to continue jive-talking. Ahem.
I had the whole clutch assembly changed, including a new thrust bearing etc and a resurfaced flywheel. Scoobysport do the flywheels on an exchange basis, with just a fee for the machining. Also included a gearbox oil change.
Total cost (inc VAT) was roughly:
470 for the clutch (invoice says the helix clutch will take 350lb/ft of torque)
60 for the flywheel
30 for the gearbox oil
200 for labour (4 hours, the gearbox has to be dropped)
Grand total of 761 inc VAT, less than my main dealer wanted for a standard clutch change.

Thankyou for your concise reply sir, you are a gentleman. What what what.
Clutch sounds a bit dear or am I out of touch? The rest sounds good value, and they know what they're doing, or so I am led to believe.
D'Oh just checked your post and it is now obvious that the clutch price includes a release bearing which I think are around £90 so it all seems about right. Good show old bean.

I had a Helix clutch fitted as well. It is pricey but it grips really well and does not judder. It should outlast standard clutches by a good margin. I think the overall saving will be better.

I'll add my thanks to Scoobysport for the Helix clutch, yes it costs but what a difference, it's now a joy to change gear and potter about in traffic rather than jump around like some fecking kangaroo.....
Ps the full system and a remap makes it the car I always wanted and FUN FUN FUN!!!!!! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
Thanks again to Pete, Paul and Pat
