I have a metallic clunking noise coming from rear of car, only does it sometimes and not especially over bumps which is weird.
Any ideas??

A number of things to check:

check the nuts on the top of the rear struts. They have been known to work loose. You'll have to take the back seats out to check this properly.

the top mounts of the springs. These have been known to get out of place - a consiquence of the above. You'll need a set of spring compressors to fix these. The gap between the top mounts and the tunnel sides they sit in should be approx equal all the way round.

your rear drop link bushes are worn out. Not uncommon on older Scoobs - mine need replacing too. You can get the Whiteline ones from Demon Tweeks for about £30 + delivery, assuming they've got stock...

Your dampers are worn out (Not likely to make a noise, but sometimes they do...) - Autospares sell these for £50 a corner. It's not a terribly difficult job to change dampers - I've done them in a car park!

Should keep you busy for little while checking. Good luck - it took me a while to get my MY96 quiet after a damper change.
