I did a 1.22 in my P1, most would say any thing under 1.30 is a respectable time, watch out for quarry, one of the toughest bends in the country.

Myself and John Felstead did 1 min 16secs and 1 min 19 secs respectively in our type ra v ltd's last year....std tyres, my car was running uprated mods giving 330bhp and leda coilovers, Johns was std apart from exhaust :)

Have done 1 min 9 secs in the saff cossie :)

Wonder what the westie would do round it, hoped to take it for rally day but its not aloud on. Have to take the P1 instead.
Also, the lap record for saloon club championship is 1.16.894 in a race tuned Rover 220 coupe.

my best is 1:24.7 in a Peugeot 205 1.6 (throttle bodies and stuff, but standard rubber).

The front runners in the castle combe saloon car series (205's, scoobies and m3's)can do 1:17's - again on standard road rubber like toyo proxies. The GT guys manage 1:10's (Radical prosports) - Ultima Stealth goes round in 1:03, and the F3 boys manage 59 second.

For a road car anything under 1:30 is quick, under 1:20 is very fast.

I'd have thought the Westie would be pushing near 1 min 10 secs all day :) (IF the suspension is set up right ;)

From this month's EVO, the Caterham academy cars were doing around 1 min 14 secs IIRC

I doubt that a 120bhp Caterham Academy car will do a lap in 1min 15secs!!

I've been around Castle Coombe in a few decent cars and the above time is very very fast!!

R400's do 1:10 - 1:11, so to take an academy car round there in 1:14 is quite impressive :)

there are a dozen caterham series, its easy to get them confused...

Feel quite happy reading the above, did 1:27 in my STi7 with standard rubber, first time on track ever & in wet weather. Took it fairly steady round corners as well.

Cool :)

Paul

Edited to say, that I had my old boy in the car also, stamping the footwell at every corner

...what he forgot to tell was that it was timed by a complete stoner, who was half asleep and timing from a random point by quarry ;):D

I did a 1.29 at rally day on my only clear lap () in my 2002 wrx. (Loads of chassis mods but near standard engine)

Be interesting to see what I do next time, when I'll be nudging over 300bhp :D
