Hi,

My MY00 is currently running on standard UK shocks and Eibach 30mm springs.

I'm looking to upgrade the shocks and keep the Eibachs, but which ones to buy..........

Any advice on handling, stiffness etc would be mucho appreciated! :D

Normally springs are matched to damper so if you want to keep you Eibachs then it would be best to keep the standard dampers. AFAIK the eibach were developed for the standard damper (best match);)

I get your point, but surely to replace the standard dampers with o.e. Subaru parts would be a lot dearer than aftermarket, performance stuff?

So you are say that your current dampers are becoming a little tired?

I don't know of any direct replacement shocks that you can buy that aren't OE. Maybe some else knows?

If funds are tight then I would consider a secondhand set from say Grade A or if you want to increase performance go for coilovers but they are usually big money.

KYB make the OE dampers and they're available at around £55 a corner on scoobyshop from www.autospares-group.com

Which Eibachs are you using - the ones from Subaru ones or the ordinary Eibachs? I'm thinking of changing springs & dampers as my MY00 has done 60k and is getting pretty bouncy

Mine are from Eibach, what are the Subaru Eibachs??? I've never heard of them.

Subaru Eibachs are Prodrive springs but for classics, could you only get a spring & damper combo (i.e. sports suspension package) rather than just springs from Prodrive?

newage Prodrive springs are made to suit the OE dampers...
