I was *ahem* playing around with th cubby hole on top of the dash on my MY99, it was after reading a DEFI install guideemove it, now the thing is I dont have DEFI so it was a wring-un from the start.
So I unscrew the two holding down screws and start to lever and pull and the like.
I then realise its not a great idea and start to try to put the mess right.
How flush is the back of the flip up lid supposed to be with the dash board when in closed position?
Ie does the windscreen side of my flippy lid stick up too much?
A photo would be really helpfull guys.

Peanuts....

I have since removed the screws and tried to get it to sit back down, whacked it, punched it but it wont go any lower at the back, it shuts ok but theres a slight gap at the back where the lid is slightly proud.
fussy...... me? dumbass more like:eek:

Lol, I see what you mean..I messed around with my dash alot and when putting it alltogether again you wonder if that's how it was before...
I don't have a pic but rest assured, the back of the top lid (the rearside that points to the windscreen sits about 0.5 cm higher than the main dash (if you put your finger across you can feel a gap). That's normal.

Another tip: never mess around with the dash unless you really intend to install something. You'll only end up with either a)lost screws/clips or b) broken dash or serious & visible scratches in your dash. And if you do install something always cover the edges with thick masking tape or something, takes a little more time but better than spending 100 bucks to replace broken/seriously scratched dash parts afterwards.....
