As per title,

I have a car powered by 2 R1 engines (standard apart from dyno jet kits and exhaust systems) and want to keep the car in the magazines so was thinking of getting them tuned ;) :D

Anybody with any do's or don'ts on tuning? Was thinking of turbo or superchargers etc???

Any tuning companys good or bad and any rough guide on costs would be appreciated.

Ta in advance.

Matt :)

Matt

You want to try getting hold of a company called Maxsym based nr Banbury. A guy called Jon Baker works for them and prepared the Yamaha YZF-R1 engines for last years World Champion Sidecar bike for Steve Abbott Racing. This year they are using Suzuki GSXR 1000s. There is another bloke called Brian Nixon that may also be able to help.

If you have a word with Scott (W) he can give you my number and i will try and get hold of Jon this week for you.

Depending on your budget :) ...

Easyway and just plain cheap is good old induction. exhausts and dynojet as you have done .....gets you an extra 10 -15BHP, but more importantly torque is higher and on a wider curve.

Anyway to explain a bit more on further stuff

First comment is spot on J !! You can spend 4k very quickly !! Had a chat with Brian who recommended you speak to Jon at Maxsym, he has been involved in tuning alot of these types of engines for race prepared bikes.

Have his number so drop us a line.
