Interesting Though Daz, the pressure you are having to put into the new age STi to achieve 437 HP compared with the likes of Harveys Classic figures or even Scott's (RB5Scott)WRX. STi intake cam has alot to answer for. WRX one with variable timing, that would be nice.

Think Daz ran 1.7 bar on the rollers, Harvey runs 1.85, I run 1.8.

Not so different.

Ok So your all running similar boost but harveys car makes BIG 550+ HP (classic) Bob Your car makes ne on 500 HP? (Classic) Daz's car makes 437 (New age STi) somewhat different results me thinks. ;)

Point I was getting at Bob was that for roughly the same size of turbo and similar modifications running similar boost the "classics" OUTPERFORM the New Age STi by a longway! So there has to be a major difference!

Harvey and I run different headers though, I'm not disagreeing about the STi7/8 differences at all. I (and RCM) am quite happy for Darren to run 2 bar on the road but his 2.2 is a "touch" excessive although the rods and pistons will take it and the car is v happy. In any event held boost at high revs would not be at that level. One thing about Darrens car is that he has an early APS FMIC which is much smaller than the later ones, that makes a big difference, the Icelandic car I did has the later (bigger) one and currently does mid 11's for the quarter.
The power is not the main benefit, the torque is and at 1.7 bar that was a good figure, clearly at 2 bar and spooling earlier on the road you can draw your own conclusions.

cheers

Not all about the car, driver makes or breaks the run under the best of circumstances. I've not seen anyone else who can launch and change gear like Gully does, awesome to see.

As Bob says, Gully has mastered quarter miles in Iceland

Si, you know i can :D

****hmm, make mental note to self, avoid Bob at all costs - he will take your boost away, hmm****

Scott  You have never made 400 bhp yet :D You only think you might have....if this and but that etc etc ;)

PS I think I might have made 500bhp when I got that boost spike yesterday.

Scott, your car makes more power than mine on 3 cylinders :p

PS I going to take mine to well lane :)....Its made 362HP @G-Force twice on different days, should be good for 500+ @ well lane :D LOL
