MAN! Just had some of my CBT training!!! I had to leave early cos they said they needed to work more on my balance. :( The guy who was helping me wasn't even supposed to be working today!!!! Having it re-booked for another day when someone can spend some serious time with me.
Any tips on what i should/shouldn't be doing!??! They had me on a DT125 cos of how broad and tall i am. Make any difference?
Thanks for all input!

If you can, do it on a moped - its easier to control, and you can always buy a geared bike and learn how to ride it like a real pro - on the road!! :D
Damian
well they said that when i go back again, which should be Tuesday, he would start me off on an automatic bike, so could then focus on the balancing.
From there, move over to the geared bike.
I'll be honest though........ i loved every bit of it. Even though I did semi-drop the bike a few times on my leg!!! :)
I found it easier on a 500 to be honest, me being 6'2" kept tangling up my arms and knees. I would however try looking past the front wheel, I found if I looked where I wanted to go and past when doing u turns it was a piece of pi$$
Hope it goes well mate well worth the patience.
Cheers

IMPORTANT NOTE:
1. *when 'trying' to balance at low speed, drag the back brake, which helps to keep the bike upright*
2. *when going slow in a straight line (and when moving at speed) keep your eyes straight ahead of you, i.e. horizon.*
look at the ground and thats where you will end up.
im 6ft 2" and im good at balancing at low speed. im able to take my 200kg fzr 600 in a circle in full lock.
it's all in the clutch control at walking pace, easier on bigger bikes because of the wider tyres. I started off doing mine (many years ago) on a TZR125 but the lock was crap so finished on a KMX125
Right, so general consensus is to look ahead of me, right?
Also, cover the rear brake with foot, just in case?
Gotcha! :)

Look where you want to be and not where you are going!
Treat the clutch like you do in the car, ie take contol of it, and above all stick at it!

Also, cover the rear brake with foot, just in case? No!! - Use the back brake along with clutch control to moderate your speed, do NOT use the front brake as this will destabilise the bike. Full lock circles are easy once you get the hang of this important trick, along with always look up (horizon) where you are going, not down!!!!
Good Luck :)
