Not been before but am furiously excited.
Is there anything I need to be aware of getting to/into the track.
Are there roads best avoided?
What time should we aim to get there for?

WSB - sunny day - 100K people?
I'd reckon an early start is best - thats what I used to do. There is only 1 road (the A20) into the area from the M25 & it'll be chocka with bikes & cars. As its sunny, early is better as well 'cos its cooler. Then hang around & watch the support races afterwards, 'cos most bugger off after the 2nd WSB & it'll be easier to leave then ;)
Enjoy - wish I was going :(

Thanks Puff.
We are off to Diamond Day at Ascot tomorrow so we will be nursing serious hangovers on Sunday.
What time does the track action (in any form) start?
An extra hour in bed could make a lot of difference to my general health, so I don't want to be getting up too early.

Should tell you all you need to know. Take waterproofs and get there early if you're planning on getting a good pitch. Gates open at 0600 at the good spots will be gone by 0730.
Was there yesterday and today - can't do tomorrow 'cos of family stuff - but got some great pictures. Ah, the wonders of a press pass...
Enjoy.

PS My money's on a British double. I reckon JR in one and either Shakey or Walker in the other. Rutter if it rains.

Seriously, the queues are unbelievably bad so do as peeps have said and get there really early. Have a good time and I hope for your sake the rain goes away - right now it's chucking it down
Wet races are often great to watch (if you are dry ;);):D:D)
Have fun,
Matt :)

My prediction
JR+SHAKEY 1 win each!!
Re Support Races after the 2nd WSBK race - there weren't any !
That's really the only complaint that I have / had after having returned from Brands yesterday (drove part-way up on Sunday, stopped for the night near Northampton then got home Monday pm).
Supersport + Superbike races were excellent but I think that it would be nice to have a couple more races on the Sunday and/or Saturday - seems to be the way things have gone at the big meetings with a tiny number of races compared to a few years ago which is a bit of a pity. I'd have thought that a couple of 1-make races could easily get squeezed in ?
