View Full Version : Andover-Newbury-Bicester to JAE
TVR Gary 24 July 2003, 13:37 Afternoon all.
Leaving Andover around 7 - 7.15 on Sunday morning to go to JAE at Billing. Meeting a mate in Milton K on the way. Anyone else going that way at that time?
TVR Gary:
Could do Bicester, I have had a couple of bad experiences with convoys / meets and said after the last time never again.
Two things I hate! Being late and racing like hell.
Wont break any of the seed limits, can’t afford the fines.
TVR Gary 24 July 2003, 18:51 Ajax it dont look like anyone is interested anyway ..... Still i will be coming through Biscester so if you fancy it then cool .. If not no worries ...
Let me know on here and we can work out where and when.
CHRIS_D 24 July 2003, 19:51 gary
looks like im defo gonna be in Milton Keynes from saturday, so i'll text you as per we arranged earlier
chris
TVR Gary: According to Autoroute if you leave Andover at 7.00 you will get to Bicester at 08.30 and Billing at 09.30 at normal driving speeds
As you probably know Northampton is known for its Truvelos
Meeting places - SUNDAY
---------------------
On the A34 going North is a little Chef near the Weston-on-the-green about two miles before the M40 J9 this could save going though Bicester
FAMILY FARM SERVICE STATION
WESTON ON THE GREEN
BICESTER
OXFORDSHIRE
Or if you want to go into Bicester the first pub is the Acorn near Tesco
Your shout, time & place, I will be there
I will be in my MY03 WRX WR Blue HOT METAL motor :) and will be with you in the SIDC area.
CHRIS_D 24 July 2003, 22:32 Ajax, It takes me 90 mins @ a max 80 mph to get fom andover to milton keynes in normal traffic
at 7-8am on sunday the roads will be dead and there are no speed cameras on either the A34 between Newbury and Bicester or the A421 between Tingewick & Milton Keynes (however, there are 2 through bicester, one near the police station and one on the way out, both 30 mph limit)
It will take 1 hr max to get from andover to bicester, then 20 mins from there to Bletchley (MK), meet me at the BP garage on the A421 next to windmill golf course then 20 - 30 mins top to Billing.
I would suggest meeting Gary at 8 am at the tyre/exhuast place on the left 200 m along from the Acorn, but i'll leave that to you 2 guys.
chris
Chris_D: Sounds cool
working on the revised figures. what time/ place TVR Gary for Bicester
07.00 Andover
08.00 Bicester ***********
08.30 Bletchley
09.00 Billing
Not sure what time it opens, even looked on the web site
TVR Gary 25 July 2003, 08:12 Morning both,
I will leave Andover at 7am ...... I always thought there was only ever one 7 o'clock and that was at night. I have no idea where the tyre and exhaust place is you are talking about but as long as its either on the A34 or the A421 then i will find you.
Chris we will pick you up on the way, Milton Keynes or whereever you want. Give us an idea?
Anyway you can text or ring me planned ...... see you fellas.
Gary
CHRIS_D 25 July 2003, 13:27 Gary,
ref the tyre place, dont worry, you will pass it when going through bicester. Basically, when you come to the end of the A34 go straight across the roundabout (over the M40) onto another dual carriageway for about 2-3 miles, at roundabout (Esso & Little Thief on left) go straight across again & approx 50m is another roundabout (this is the Acorn pub one - also Tescos will be on your right) first left/straght across this one. After approx 200m there is a mini roundabout, you will see the tyre/exhuast place on your left.
From there go straight on, pass Cop shop/courts and Fire station on left. Next roundabout take 2nd left, under railway bridge, over 2 mini roundabouts, pass car dealer on right. watch for speed camera. straight across at next roundabout, then A road for 10 miles or so. At roundabout take the last exit onto dual carriageway and head on A421. Easy-peasy:D
see you 8.30 ish
chris
Thanks Chris_D
I will see TVR Gary at 8.00 (please dont be late) at the Tyre and Exhaust Place and you at 8.30 at BP garage on the A421 next to windmill golf.
