The Luffield-Woodcote area is pretty good.

Agree that Luffield is quite good, you get to see the cars for quite a long time as they exit from Bridge then as they negotiate a series of bends and also as they put down the power on the exit of Luffield to head towards Woodcote. You also see the entry to the pit lane from there. They are going a bit slow tho (relatively!). If you spectate from there get there bloody early as the general viewing area is limited, most of that area being grandstand. When I was there for the F1 testing a few weeks back quite a few cars got a bit twitchy as they went round Luffield.
Other than that I like Becketts but I've only ever watched from the top of the grandstand on the infield so can't comment on the view from the raised banking on the outside. Maggots should be good (from the outide) as they're travelling at a fair old rate of knots into the braking area.
I've also watched from the raised banking on the outside of Club and this was quite good too.
Silverstone really isn't the best circuit for spectating (imho) so you're not going to get a brilliant view unless you're in a helicopter ;) It depends whether you want to see them cornering or going fast, at Becketts you get the best of both these worlds as the speed they take wiggly bits at is amazing.
Wherever you go try and get a good view of a giant screen so at least you know what's happening elsewhere on the circuit :)
If it was me going I'd get there stupidly early and spectate somewhere along the outside of the circiut on the raised banking between Copse and Becketts (probably!). Actually I am am going but I'll be slumming it in the paddock ;) :D

I'd recommend Becketts as a good place to watch from. Cars are pretty quick there, and it's great to see them changing direction at this speed. I think they pull something like 3.5 lateral G there.
