does this contanst hum/buzz mean that it cant set alarm cus it thinks a door is open? everything is closed as normal...

if you lock doors manually with key, the alarm still kicks in automatically after 40 seconds, but without the buzz!

so its only when i try to set using the keyfob

ok, so it seems the buzz is cus something is telling the alarm is not set...cant work out which sensor is causing it :(

Had you just washed the car ????

Could be bonnet sensor i had this once before after a vigorous outing with the hose.

I had exactly the same thing with My STi5 a couple of years ago. This was caused by the bonnet sensor working loose.

If you get aphilips screwdriver and open the bonnet you'll find the push rod that acts as the sensor. Make sure the housing is securly screwed to the chassis. (Mine was loose).

Hope that solves it.

Cheers,
Sonnic
