Saw the post about racewars...can't log onto it for some reason!!
Whats it about, when does it happen...1/4 mile or what sort of stuff is it, and where is it at.

Think its got more to do with the mainland than here. No 1/4's here. Just isnt the room, unless you can borrow an airfield. Does Aldergrove take a day off ??:D:D It would probably do.

Its all over but theres been no events here yet as like you know there no 1/4 mile...im looking into finding som where where we could be it...( belfast west link...lol)

I had heard about some gti club using Kirkistown as 1/4 mile...there is one of the back straights seemingly this length.
Could we not get something like this organised...any interest??

Yea, the GTI club did do it a while back. Still not convinced that kirkiston has enough room for it though.
I may be wrong though. Ideally you would need around 600m-650m for a 1/4 mile run, to allow sensible braking areas.

There is quite a long wide straight ( albeit slightly bumpy ) just out the back of the Odyssey, towards H+W. Plenty of room there for racing, although its a public road, and the law dont take too kindly to that.
There are a few public roads that would be suitable, but thats a bit risky for an organised event.

And NO, Millisle car park is no good either, it would barely be 1/8th mile, let alone having braking room after that.
Even slow crapy cars wouldnt have enough room there. And as for spectators, im surprised no-one got injured last year.

Some years ago, I also attended Bishopscourt, where they claimed they had a 1/4 mile, but it was rained off, so no cars ran.
Not sure if they do have the room or not, bit being an old army base ( and possibly airfield?? ) it might be a better place?
