Hello people, i found one of the above in MINT(100%) condition and i'm thinking of buying it, i know it's an old bike, but i was wondering if anyone of the older bikers here know about this bike.

I already have another three bikes, but i really liked this one. :D

Good bikes, is it the full-floater with the top-half fairing, or is it a twin-shocker? I remember they used to be a bit like a 2-stroke, had a nice power step at around 7,000rpm :D

Make sure the battery is charging, Suzis from the 70s and early 80s are notorious for regulator / rectifier failure. If you have a voltmeter, check if you get 13 - 14.5V across the battery terminals at 3000rpm. If you do, it's fine. If you don't have a voltmeter, see if the headlamp gets brighter as you rev it ;)

If its a full-floater, check the linkages aren't all corroded and dry as they're prone to get stiff and wear.

If it's got the original airbox and exhaust, great. Don't worry too much about an aftermarket exhaust, but the GS and GSX do prefer to have the factory airbox.

The engines are very robust, usually no probs with camchains etc (unlike Hondas from the same period :)), just change the oil regularly.

Edited to add this Link (http://www.suzuki-club.co.uk/db/forum/default.asp) to the Suzuki OC forums, where you'll get all the help you may need.

it's the one with the bikini fairing, the one that's mounted on the steering wheel

Thanks for the loads of info, the bike is completely standard and it has 20k miles with full service history
