S10 went into the garage today to have new heat shields fitted to the downpipe ubnder warranty.

OK it's still not a fix for my suspected 'piston slap' (that is going to be a long and drawn out process I fear ), but I'm giving the dealer three plus points . They fixed the car under warranty despite the fact that I've never used them before, returned the car to me at work washed and valleted, and remembered to give me the parts they replaced as I had asked .
