Meet on the 31.8.03? Sunday?

Will the usual suspects be in Prague?

Could be! :D Would be fun, a blast over to Prague...

Btw have you guys ever tried the road from Deggendorf directly across the border towards Klatovy? Unbelievable road... just like a test track... wide, smooth, hairpins, fast straights... guaranteed grins-a-plenty :D.

So (work permitting) I'm definitely up for it :).

Cheers

Cool :)

We are definitely open to suggestions on what to do. Last year we had a great drive up to an abandoned airfield with even more fun :) :) :)

BTW the meeting point doesn't have to be Prague if any one knows of better places?

Pilzen is closer to us but not sure if anyone other tahn you Kate knows the area I have only been to Prague twice and the only driven there once and got lost.

Last year we met at a petrol station just outside of Prague. (Pruhonice)

Pilzen would be great - Prague is big, and quite a lot further away... It takes a couple of hours to get over the border from Munich, which means 4-5 for Steve/Guy etc. Pilzen would only add another hour instead of 2 or so...

Bet you didn't expect this much response so quickly ;) :D:D.

I know this is cool :D :D :D

If everyone will be OK with Pilsen we can meet there. Iit also depends on what we'd want to do.

Like it Prague I know where we can do go-carting but I don't know Pilsen at all. Nor the roads around it for a nice drive ;)

Re-Bitten Hero

From my experience around Klatovy (not much!), all the roads around that area are great for a drive :D. But karting would be awesome, if we can get people together. OTOH I don't think there would be enough hours in the day to do Munich to Prague and back AND karting, even assuming the Stuttgart/Bubblingen lot stayed over with us Munchners beforehand...

Good idea though :).

We are planning to stay over in a B&B or cheap hotel because it is 5 hours from BBN to Prague. We could met up in Pilzen stay the night than go on to prague the next day and have fun, Jess desperatly wants to go to Prague so we might stay an extar day or so aswell.

Thats a good idea actualy.

Then we can do some go-carting for example in Prague and still have some time left to have a nice drive.......

Hmm... not so happy about leaving the car overnight anywhere :( Also it could prove very difficult to get time off work then, as our Ferrari project will be in full swing...

Anyhow I can give a definite y/n nearer the time then :).

Cheers

Kool, I am up for it again !

Kate, there is another carting place (owned by the same crowd as last year) that is better than the one we went to last time. its longer, more challenging and has digital timing gear with print outs of lap times etc. its called kart centrum and its near radotin.

Everyone has their own views on this, but i wouldn't leave my car parked on the street overnight in Prague. Cars with foreign plates just disappear, a friend of mine from Sweden had 2 nicked from outside his flat and the local constabulary don't give a monkeys.

Looking forward to it...

Big fun on gravel.

Sounds good fun!

Should we start looking for a B&B with safe parking in Prague then? Anyone know any places or where we can start looking? My Czech isn't too good :( ;).

Any partners???

We thought on the Sunday middayish to go for some go-carting and then have a nice drive somewhere.
Maybe to the airfiled like last year? The journey there was excelent with lost of twisty roads ;)

Hrubago - do you have any details about the carting? I am trying to find something as well (we book carting in Prague through my work but the guy who does it is on holiday now ....)

If we do go for the trip to the airfield someone should realy do a map for everyone as it's not going to be just two cars is it ;)
I can do it, but need to know where it is.

Hotel in Prague:

OK I work for a travel agency and these are my suggestions:

Pension DIGITALS - small family run, chargable garage parking. It is located in an area from German/Czech border crossing side of Prague (basicaly so you don't have to go through the whole Prague to get to the accommodation)

Pension FILIP - again family run, again on that side of Prague, again chargabe garage parking.

You can book it if you want through me ;) or through our office in Prague E-travel (http://www.travel.cz)

Meeting point: if you guys book any of these hotels that its best to find a meeting point somewhere close by.
I suggest service station RUDNA (McDonalds) it is on the motorway from Plzen - Prague it is here (http://www.mapy.cz/handler.py?action=detail&mapwidth=552&mapheight=420&tablename=obec_web&objecttype=0&key=531723), very near to Prague.

OK, so i guess that covers all for now.

I will try to book it. But im not sure about price. But i think through the sunday it will be free.
Price for 10mins is about 200 Kc = 6,5 Euro.

In Prague there are 6 carting centers. I prefer one in Radotin (south border of Prague).

Velryba's chick
15 July 2003, 17:09
Yeah, Radotin carting is the one that we book as well. And I think Dzban as well. I can check with the guy when he comes from holiday if we can get some discount.
