Can anyone tell me how long a set of shocks should last. I have an 01 with 27000 and i'm starting to get a bit of band when i hit sudden bumps. i was wondering if it could be the shocks?
Help appreciated
thanks
Scott
A bit of a band, dont you mean BANG.
But back on subject my rear shocks have just been replaced as the N/S had lost most of its fluid and mine has got 27.5k on it.
I didnt realise how bad it was handling until the new ones were put on.
PS. Dont buy from the dealers as you can get them for £140 including delivery and VAT.The dealers wanted £110 + Vat each.

Cheers Zippy :)
I was thinking more of a warranty claim myself ;)
So was i mate, until Subaru told me they were not covered after year 1 as they are then classed as a wear and tear item and are subsequently not covered.
Mine cost £140 for the shocks and £60 fitting by my dealer.

As Zippy says, get them from Autospares.com and whilst you're at it, get them fitted by Powerstation and the geometry set to transorm your car.

Knowing Scott, if he has to pay for new ones, he'll pay for "better" new ones - so, a set of Leda going on then Scott? ;);)

I just hope your dealer isn't one these ones which stick to the letter of the law/warranty as I suspect they may spot your car is a little modified?? ;);)

haha i did mention that i know the engine is'nt standard but the suspension and brakes sure are, well Prodrive anyway ;)
Service manager then told me 'the car gets a hard life, track days etc" to which i reply "its there to be used or i would buy a skoda" :D then i told him to think theirselves lucky, i'm paying for a new clutch out of my own pocket ;)
