I have just put a set of 17 inch wheels on my 98 scooby turbo with 215/40/17 tyres, just wanted to know that if I ever got a flat tyre is it ok to put on the standard 16 inch spare wheel or will this do and damage to the cars drive train?

 

You should never do more than 50mph on the spare, and the fact that subaru only supplied the RB5 which had 17's, with a 16"spare should mean that it's ok to use!
