Is'nt anyone going for a watch?
It's a BTRDA round so there'll be a few WRC cars about.

You could always look out for me - car 226 - pocket rocket Daihatsu.

Sore point. I wasn't just watching it, I was meant to be doing it in a WRC98 (I am the co-driver of Car 8). However we have just had the engine rebuilt following an event in Belgium last month and were told yesterday that they couldn't finish it in time. The car we could have used as a contingency (Gp A version) crashed on the last stage of the Scottish last weekend so that was out as well. Leaving me no choice but to sacrifice my £300 and withdraw (gutted). Good luck for tomorrow anyway. Nick. p.s. haven't been on the net at home until recently and just found the website. Looks good to me.

I hope those who went enjoyed a good days viewing, apart from the dust!!
We had a great time, don't know where we came yet, but we finnished intact, no damage, suprising with the rough bits 2nd time round, but thats what it's like around the Sherwood Forests.

Welcome to the madness Nick.;) Should be good to hear some of your exploits in future, and also the ones that drivers never talk about. You know the ones I mean, those that are their fault!:D

I saw some action near the chicane (spelling?) on the long straight nearest the Sherwood Pines Visitor Centre. At least 2 cars got wrecked and were unable to drive off, the chicane was poorly placed and the marshalls looked more like the Keystone Cops as they flapped about rebuilding the thing. It was great for the blood thirsty spectators but a real shame for the competitors who are left with a massive bill just because of poor course design.
What did you guys think of it, I assume you came through in one piece?

Thanks for the response Mark. Look forward to contributing in the future. Watch this space for details of our next event! I know we are doing the Woodpecker in August but are looking to do something in July, maybe the Quinton?

I believe the chicane will move next year.

Proco......no they don't fall over, well no more than any other car. I managed to get it on 2 wheels yesterday, but she did'nt go over. I got some tuition from Justin Dale last year and let him take me out in the car to see what it could really do. Put it this way, he got the car more sideways than I had ever dared before and he gave a new meaning to the words "full cut".
So I now chuck it around as much as possible & cut some corners wherever I dare.
I hope you had a good day, not too dusty for you.

Hi Dremel,

I went along. Funnily enough I was admiring your car, I quite fancy one! I ran behind one at the Longmoor Loco stages. It was fast, well compared to me :D Someone who I met yesterday used to run a couple in the championship they had. One car cost just £1000 for the whole years rallying  He mentioned the concern about rolling, but he didn't think they were any worse than any other car.

I didn't see you on the stages. Was there with a couple of Pug 205s. Spotted a couple of Scoobs with s/net stickers in

Still finding bits of dust everywhere....mainly in my lungs!! :D

Are you doing the rest of the BTRDA rounds?

Hey Nick98
If its any consolation our Impreza engine broke on Wednesday night before the rally, so we too were left on the sidelines watching through the dust! Good viewing at the start of stage 9 though for the air-bourne antics of those taking part... One Cosworth must have got 3 or 4 feet off the floor...just wish it had been us having a go!

Cheers

Makes me feel a little better knowing that we weren't the only ones to suffer pre event disasters! We have only just moved up to a WRC having had a Gp N V5 and then a V6 car for a couple of years and those never missed a beat - but so far, apart from Monteberg Rally Sprint, all we have done is spend cash like its going out of fashion. Still theres always a next time I suppose.

Scoo babe - no we're not doing the rest of the BTRDA but may do a BTRDA event in Wales later on. We did 7 rounds of the BTRDA last year, but my navigator has problems leaving work early on a Friday night this year, so we're doing the ANCC instead.
We hope to do it next year though.

By the way, my cars up for sale if your interested?
Let me know.
