Hi,

I have a UK MY99. It has a problem with the heating controls.
The top slider which changes from internal re-circ to external
feed is loose and stuch on re-circ (the left setting).

Unless the air con is on the air gets a bit sticky.

Does anyone know how to fix or re-attach the cable ?

Or how to slide something to set it to external feed instead if this is easier ?

Details on what to unscrew, where etc would be great.

Thanks in advance,

MKC

I may not have made the original question very clear.

Does anyone know how to re-attach the cables which connect the heater control sliders on the dash to the sliders.

ie, my slider is slid to the right for air to come in from the outside, but the air is coming in from the inside instead. something has become disconnected.

ANY HELP OR ADVICE APRECIATED...THANKS

Remove the pass. side lower dash trim (including glove box) 1 plastic fixing on l/h side two screws underneath (1 each side) 3 along the top of the glove box 1 at the back of the glove box and pull. you should now see the blue cable going the the fan assembly if this end has become detached then it is easier to get at with the bits off you have already removed. If it's not this then it will entail a strip down of the centre section to get at the control end. I'll keep an eye on this topic.
