I've messed this posting up a bit but here goes-

1987 (NC24) 17,000 miles, Rothmans colours (blue/white) and posibly the cleanest one you will ever see- the old boy before me used to keep it in the hallway of his house, he clocked up a few hundred miles a year & never rode it in the rain!

Great little bike, free revving V4, standard spec, new MoT, never tracked or crashed, great for newbies or just a bit of fun for experienced bikers.

Its not just for shorties either, I'm 6ft3 & its fine for me as long as I have a stretch after about an hour or so, I find an R6 is more cramped.

I'm asking £1300 for it which seems a pretty good deal & I've not seen another one this clean.

My other half (T_Bird) may be interested in this. She had her bike nicked last Friday and is looking for a replacement.

I'll point her in your direction when she gets home (after midnight).

Cheers
Mark

I'm also interested in the bike but it has to be for the right price.

I'd seen the Ad but wasn't convinced I wanted another VFR400. I find I have an aching back after less than 1 hour.
How does she handle and does she have any new bits? What about a service history, security, etc?

Hi T bird,

I would probabaly be considered a fairly big bloke for a 400 at 6ft 3 and 16 stone but in truth other than looking like I'm riding a minimoto :D the only bit that is more of pain for me than riding my Suzuki Bandit is a pain in the knees after an hour or so & that is mainly coz I've had a few 'offs' over the years and my knees are a bit shagged.

The NC24 has a less extreme riding position & has higher bars than the RVF400 NC35 which I also ride & the RVF is noticibly more cramped- I've not riden the more popular NC30, but from sitting on one a while back I think they are like the RVF's position and less roomy than this.

I think it handles fine, I think its had a replacement rear shock at some time as even with my bulk its fine for me & is leagues ahead of anything else this age ive ever ridden, (oh and the adjustable forks make a noticable difference to handling too) its not quite in RVF league but I've not riden any thing that handles quite as great as an RVF! however the speed & power is the same- if anything the VFR is a tiny bit quicker.

Ref extras its as far as im aware is bog standard with only a spare a single seat pad to replace the current pillion pad if that floats ya boat, oh and its got braided brake lines too.

Security is a bloody big lock :) so none of that alarm nonsence to go wrong like all the bike alarms I've ever known.

Coopz ref "the right price" if you dont think this is already at a very fair price for what I think is the posibly the cleanest, most original & unmessed with NC24 in the country, well fair enough buy another one if you think you can get a better deal, but before I got this off the old boy who has owned it since import in '97 I looked at several NC24's & NC30's.
The NC24's in this condition were in the £1500-£1800 area with the NC30s at £1800+ yes I've seen a few doggy NC24s at a grand and hound dog NC30s at under £1500 but this is not in that description by a long long long way.

However due to present circumstances I can't justify a 3 bike fleet at the moment & do need to sell the old girl, (and the RVF400 too :( which I'll also put in the classifieds soon) so feel free to come and see me with a stack of cash in ya pocket & we can haggle after you have seen how clean it is.

If you r then i'll be there, with cash and would be very keen to have a go.

Ahh right cheers Coopz, err no, never been but I don't think its really my bag mate, I'm imagining a UK version of The fast & the furious race wars :D maybe I'm very wrong but I'm imagining lax power type modded jap cars & that don't really float my boat.
