I see Halfords is seling the "Williams F1 Team" car cleaning products. It sells the car polish at £9.99 for 500ml. The blurb on the front says it contains carnauba wax. D'reckon this is any good (the product not the wax)?

If you read the label I seem to recall it's a polish - not a wax.
Waxing a car is better than polishing as you are adding layers not removing.

Better paying around the same and getting Zymol cleaner wax.

I have allways found MER gives very good water beading and shine with very little effort to put on and take off, it also does not get any harder to take off with time / exposure to sun.

I keep reading about all these expensive Zymol waxes and the like on here. I admit, the results look OK, but I've (& my dad before me) been getting similar results for years with Simoniz Original (yellow tin), it's a genuine Carnuba Wax with no abrasives or silicone. Takes a bit of effort to put on (preferably on a cool day) but lasts six months or more with beautiful beaded water reticulation. It's only around a fiver a tin, but move quick as Holts International have taken over Simoniz and, because most people don't like hard work and don't give a damn about their vehicles, it's a slow seller and will probably be dropped.

Check out the cloud reflections, waxed 3x a year and it looks like this all the time. Only use cold water (no detergents) to wash it.

I used to use Simoniz on my car until I got Swizol which in my opinion is a better wax, it is easier to put on and take off and I think it gives a deeper shine. Though it is near daylight robery buying the stuff, hope it lasts a while.

I only use Swissol products. I admit it costs more but the results are outstanding. It's also great this weather because bugs and flies don't stick to it.

i bought a bottle of swizol from halfords last weekend (the bleu bottle). i dont know if the shine was any better, but the stuff smelt lovely. my scoob smells of coconuts.

P1-day that would have been the Zymol stuff not the Swizzol. I was using this until it exhausted and I've just tried the Swizzol stuff (weekend rental from Scoobyworld) and its bloody great, nice deep shine much better than the zymol from halfords and easier to apply/use.

I've done 180 miles and still gleaming with minor bug splatters which have rinced off nicely. Top stuff, accept no substitutes this is 'the' wax!:D

If it handles the remainder of the week (600 miles) and still just needs a rince then its on my shopping list.

I've used swissol and its good, but value for money I think Meguiars is also very good
