fitting Aircon to MY98
Looking to get a UKMY98 but want to fit aircon onto it. Does anyone have a list of parts I need to get and instructions on how to fit it? I've heard that someone does a retro-fit kit - anyone got details on this?
Cheers

As far as I'm aware the air con on UK spec Scoobys were fitted at the docs when the cars landed in the UK by a co. called coolair. The kit was available from the dealers and when they went over to the bug eyes they were discounted. Don't know what the price of them is now.
I fitted the air con from a Jap spec to my MY2000 but had a few probs with the rad thingy that goes in the air box. Basically the jap one doesn't fit so you have to use a UK spec one. Once I got this the hose between the pump and this is different for the two models so I had to get a special made.
If you buy a 2nd hand one make sure you get all the relays, 2nd fan, dash switch etc. Also if the system has been left open to the air for any period you will need a new thingy that takes the water out of the system.
As long as you get all the bits the air con is easy to fit as all the mounting point and wiring is in place.
