They've booked the whole bloody hotel in Neath where we've stayed for the last 4 years images/smilies/mad.gif - FOR 2 WEEKS!!!!!!
We're now having to search for alternative accomodation :(
Whats up with your car?
:D
Can't get 8 of us in my car...... even if I do put the back seats down :D
Enter TaviaRS stage left:D:D

Flat 4x4 23 May 2003, 17:00 Skoda are obviously getting serious - sounds like a UK marketing push ?
How far is the Nant Ddu on the A470 - any stages around there this year ?
johnfelstead 29 May 2003, 20:42 why didnt you book it the moment of your departure if you are so keen on that place? you only have yourself to blame. ;):D
apparently they wanted it last year, but people had already booked.
they booked this year before last year's rally!!! (nice of the hotel to tell us )
RUFocused 03 June 2003, 22:08 Nant ddu is about 15 mins drive to nearest stage, parking is good there. The Baverstocks in Hirwaun is where the Subaru team used to stay, may be worth giving them a ring, very close to loads of stages from there, also pretty good/safe to park. Two hotels in Merthyr are the Castel Hotel but I wouldn`t like to leave my car in Merthyr Town. And the Tregenna Hotel out of town so may be a bit safer for parking. There are also loads of B&Bs i`ll try and find some phone #s when passing
mutant_matt 04 June 2003, 13:00 they booked this year before last year's rally!!! (nice of the hotel to tell us )Book next year now? ;);):D:D

johnfelstead 14 June 2003, 18:00 LOL @ BuRR and Matt :D
The Hotel was "The Castle" - which is right in the town centre.

scoff 20 August 2003, 07:34 well as i said earlier here..... i am booked in the castle and had a letter of confimation. skoda have booked in the hotel from the sunday night for some reason..... may be some testing work, the woman on the phone said they had booked into the hotel on the 9th november....
krbenson19@sw-cc.com 23 August 2003, 14:36 I live between Resolfen and Rheola stages and theres a B&B that a lot of supporters stay at and afaik it isnt booked up yet! search for the lamb and flag hotel in glynneath. 4 miles from both stages!
SeventySix 24 August 2003, 19:02 We're booked in at the Castle too - booked it Friday just gone, it was one of two rooms left. Went to check out the hotel today - location seems good for getting to the all the stages over the four days.
On the way back, saw a sign for Rheloa and turned up a long forest track thru the hills (not the greatest surface for the suspension on my Xsara VTS :-P) - wonder if any of it is used for the special stage? :-P

scoff 26 August 2003, 12:32 see you there seventysix........
you said you checked out the hotel..... does it have parking or not, and don't you get blasting that air horn you mention near our room.......
SeventySix 26 August 2003, 18:05 LOL
The car park was around the corner and down the road a bit from the hotel. We saw the sign for it but not the actual car park itself. When I enquired about parking, the receptionist said that Skoda might be occupying the car park with their truck! There is parking outside the hotel, in the road, but only between 1800 & 0800.
There's a large Safeway's about 150 metres away so stocking up for stage food shouldn't be a problem! There's also a Millets around the corner in case you forget any outdoor stuff.
The hotel looked OK - very rustic with a medium sized bar and restaurant. Noticed they hold a punk/metal night in the public bar on Thursdays!!
Asked what time they will be serving brekky - they said it normally starts @ 0700 but will "be earlier" due to the rally. I wonder if they realise *how* early when accomodating a 0751 start at Brechfa!!!

PS Promise not to use that air horn in the hotel (much!).
scoff 26 August 2003, 23:10 don't worry to much about thursday night.... i will be in the middle of trawscoed kipping in the car, waiting for the 8-30 start.... so if any of you see anyone go off at brechfa, make sure you get them up and running again so we get to see them..... cheers
SeventySix 10 September 2003, 22:03 I've cancelled my booking at the Castle so their family room is now available!
We're going self-catering now in a centrally-heated cottage near Swansea. It's cheaper than the hotel that said they would start breakfast a 'bit earlier' than the 7am norm, but that would be far too late to get to the morning stages.
