Gonna have some time to kill in London tomorrow near Tott Court Road. Any car audio dealers in the area worth a look?

Most have a terrible reputation when things go wrong. They are hard retailers with no real time for anyone. "Are you buying now" seems to be their first words. have a look..then buy mailorder.

I've used Citysounds and that's about the only place I'd recommend as they actually seem to know their stuff. Bought a head unit from there a while back, and Andy was very helpful, and wasn't taking the urine with the "what's the best price you've seen" game.

Know the street price of everything before you buy tho!

So long as you know exactly what you want, then Tottenham Court Road is fine. Tell them you've got the cash, get a price, move on to the next place. When you're done, go for a pint and decide which place to buy from. Just don't expect too much expert advice, or customer care. You want some ICE, they want your money. A match made in heaven ! It's been a while since I've been up there (second hand stuff is even cheaper !!), but it should be no problem getting 25% off list.

Prob too late, but Mobile World are usually very good on price, esp. for Alpine stuff. They operate from a counter inside one of the shops. Don't have the address to hand, but I think they have a site (try www.caraudioandsecurity.com). You can usually find their ad in - yep, you guessed it - MAX POWER!

I bought a Pioneer OEL display head unit (might be a DEH9000, can't remember) from Shasonic on TC Road a few years ago and saved £££'s.

Can't make my mind up whether to get it fixed or not (display flickers, think it's a connection prob to the faceplace) and bung it in my scoob.

John
