Hi Guys. Thanks to some tealeafing 8astards I have no sounds in my car any more!(STi7) This is whats left
1) Kenwood 959 amp(only 6 months old)
2)Kenwood KFC -psr70p(with tweat) at the front and KFC psr700 dual mags at the back.

I'm up for spending about £500 exc fitting.I need

1)Head unit that must have tuner,cd changer, and cassette player(I know ancient are'nt I?)I only ever intend to run one amp/sub

2)10" subwoofer

3)Though the speakers are'nt old I must say have never really been impressed by their performance and so would'nt mind changing these aswell.Speakers should fit with minimal or no cutting. The oem speakers are in the back doors, these have been disconnected and the dual mags are on the rear shelf.

I'm after clarity of sound but do occasionally turn it up 'to feel da bass'.

Any suggestions?

why don't you go for an alpine tape receiver with cd changer, a jl sub, infinity fronts and a four channel - bridge 2 channels for the sub, 2 for the fronts - and run the rears off the head unit?? just buy the speakers new, get the rest 2nd hand off loot or here and you're away!!!

As above...

I'd go for a good casette player (if you have to... are you *sure* you need this - no chance you could mp3 encode everything that was on tape onto your PC and use MP3?), add a cheap-ish cd changer and a 4 channel amp.

Price wise - 300 quid for head unit/cd changer package new, you should get a stonking system for 200 second hand, then 200 quid for a good quality 4 channel amp (Phoenix Gold leaps to mind as a good 4 channel budget amp) then 50-100 quid on a nice 10".

Budget on 50 quid too for cabling etc.

Let us know on the MP3 front; tapes, eh? ;)
