Tailgate glass - 5 dr

Just had my tailgate glass broken by a low-life,to steal some items concealed by the load cover - i.e. broke in on spec.
Fortunately no body or interior damage, and protected NCD.
But....... there is no glass in the UK, and probably a 10+ day wait to ship from Japan.
Does this happen often?
