ive got an Audi A2 as a courtesy car whilst mine is in the bodyshop. Down by the centre console on the drivers side is a button with ASR (i think - cant be 4rsed to go outside and check
) on it. I'd look in the manual, but as i said it is a loan car and doesn't have one.
what does ASR stand for and what does it do?
ive pushed it on and a warning triangle surrounded by a circular arrow comes on on the tachometer
cheers

Done a search (yes I'm bored), anyway it's Anti-slip Regulation (traction control)
I was joking BTW, but then I suppose you realised that because obviously the ASR would only be feasible with the mighty torque of the turbo diesel
..lol
There's even a A2 forum with a list of unique facts about the A2, apparantly the sound of rain drops on the roof is a unique experience due to the aluminium roof...altogether now...wow!

We have the 1.6 Fsi sport. It has loads of low down grunt, and you have to give it credit for being designed to use optimax. I have made the ASR light come on aquite a few times but only when going around corners.

DOnt start dissing Audi, they are great cars and you pay for what you get. My S3 way 1000 times better inside and out build wise than my STi8. I love my STi 8 and would not swap it for the world, but i do miss my electric seats, Bose sterio etc etc.
ASR = traction control - correct.
ESP = stability control which works on all 4 wheels.
I would think that pressing the button (bringing the light on on the dash) will turn it off completely, however this is not always the case. With ESP it sometimes just increases the threshold so that you get a bit more fun but still helped when things get really out of shape. :-)
